Still no word on my trip to New York, though I did call them yesterday to try and glean some information from them.  The woman assured me she’d have to call me back, and I’m hoping I hear from them today with some concrete plans.  They had originally mentioned Thursday or Friday as days to interview, but since it’s Thursday and I’m still in Portland, I’m thinking they’ll want to give me some prep time and push it back to next week.  No problem, there–I just want to be home on Saturday for FredFest 2008, not just because I paid $50 to attend an exclusive brewfest with my girlfriend and Dad.

I walked to work this morning for the third time this week, and it’s a really nice way to start the day.  I made sure that I wore a different t-shirt this morning, though.  It’s a 2.2 mile walk, and though I’m not that out of shape, I do sweat a little bit because I walk at a decent pace.  It’s good to stretch my legs first thing in the morning, and I can listen to my entire morning BBC news podcast and start a second podcast on the walk, so it’s a good use of time, too.

Hanne and I started watching “The West Wing” from the beginning this week.  Damn I love that show.  Hanne’s enjoying it, and I hope we make it through the first four seasons unscathed.  In an odd twist of fate, I read that actor Dulé Hill, who played the role of the President’s aid, will be at a brewpub within walking distance of our house this Saturday in an Obama fundraiser, and I might stop by to shake his hand.

Hanne has one final left, and I have to say, I’m looking forward to being able to do stuff with my girlfriend again.
