It’s been so long since I wrote (OK, less than two weeks, but still) that I scarcely know where to begin. So much has happened, and for once, I actually want to talk about a lot of it, but I can’t find the motivation to really get into it at length now, so I’ll do what I can.
Happy belated Thanksgiving to all. I’m currently sitting at the dining room table at my grandmother’s house in Boise, Idaho, leeching wifi Internet access off some poor sap in a nearby house. Before I came, I set up a dial-up service to use sparingly since my grandmother only has one phone line and I couldn’t tie it up, but on a lark I plugged in my wireless networking card and found that a neighbor of hers is using unsecured wireless networking in their house and has a high-speed Internet connection. I can just connect to it and use it as if I were sitting in their house, though since I’m not doing anything malicious with the connection, I don’t feel too bad.
The moral of the story? If you use wifi networking, secure your network. Otherwise some industrious soul such as myself may decide to connect to you network.
That’s all I have the motivation to talk about right now. I just don’t feel like writing, for once. I’ve told you about Andrew’s rule of three, yes? The weird thing where I can only focus on three things in my life at a time? Well writing isn’t one of them at the moment. I’m all full up with some other distractions, some of which I may talk about at some point. But not at the moment. I just wanted to post and let everyone know that I didn’t suffer some horrible disfiguring accident and that I’m still out here, just busy and happy and not feeling like writing.
I hope everyone’s Thanksgiving included a lot of eating as mine has. This has been a week of several of the Seven Deadly Sins, gluttany most of all, though a couple of the others have reared their ugly heads, as well. Sloth is really an overrated sin, y’know. But nonetheless, I’m just at a loss for words at the moment, so I’ll leave you with that.
Happy Saturday.
