Friday notes that deal mainly with food.

Oh, wow. That was the best lunch I’ve had in a long time. I just wanted to share that. I went up to Burgerville and ate their food for the first time since I was in high school, and I am SO satisfied now, both mentally and physically. Since I haven’t had a hamburger in more than two years I’d been avoiding Burgerville (especially since they’re known for their burgers over anything else), but when I Got up there I saw that they do have a wide variety of other foods, like Gardenburgers–real Gardenburger-brand Gardenburgers, too, and not McVeggie burger crap–grilled chicken sandwiches, and other goodies. I ended up with a spicy black bean Gardenburger, a side of the seasonal Walla Walla sweet onion rings, and an Oregon blackberry smoothie (made with non-fat frozen yogurt). Sooooo good. I also happen to be wearing my “Walla Walla Homegrown” t-shirt today that my Dad picked up in Walla Walla last time he was there that has onions on the front and the Hot Poop! record shop logo on the back. For those in the know, Hot Poop! is where you go. Uber-cool place, though honestly I haven’t been there since I was pretty young.

So yeah, I just wanted to share my yummy experience that I’m certain will be repeated in the near future, though I may skip the onion rings. I feel a bit ill right now, so I think they used a lot of oil in the frying. And they’re not beer battered like we do at home! Eh, I’ll take what I can get.

As a footnote, last night I was sitting around thinking what I wanted to do do for dinner and finally decided on picking up some Mexican food so that my attempt to be continental and drink tequila neat wouldn’t seem so lame. I ran into my sister in the parking lot and we both went to Baja Fresh. End result? Good tequila, but I have to mix it. It wasn’t quite as smooth as I remembered, but I’m probably just remembering on of the other kinds I tried. I think this was the stuff I mixed either with straight lime juice or that I mixed with cranberry juice. I’m stopping by the grocery store on the way home and buying limes and cranberry juice, so I’ll find out for myself, no? I think that’s worth a try.

But I don’t think I’ll have a big dinner tonight.

So what are my plans this weekend? Don’t know yet. I’m waiting to hear about possibly getting together with a friend, though I’m not sure whether that will be Saturday or Sunday. My goal for the weekend is to clear most of my Tivo buffer, actually. Yes, that sound stupid, but pretty much all that will consist of is me watching a few movies over the course of two days and saving two episodes of “Nip/Tuck to tape for my Mom. That will get rid of everything that I saved, fo rthe most part, and make it so that new programs aren’t deleted as quickly as when the hard drive’s filled up with crap I need to watch or deal with. I think that I can force myself to watch a couple of movies over the course of the next couple days, no?

So that’s my Friday. Hope yours is going well, too.
