Yes, I’m still around.

And behold, thus arose the Phoenix by the name of Andrew.

Yes, it’s been nearly two weeks since my last blog entry. I’ve gotten multiple inquiries about the state of the site, but I just wasn’t interested enough in writing to make a go of it. It’s a long, long story that I’d rather not get into at the moment, but obviously, I’ve come out of it unscathed. Relatively.

So what’s been going on in Andrew’s life? Well, for the last week I’ve had the place to myself since my sister’s in California at her corporate retreat, and it’s been nice have the time alone with my thoughts. And television. Well, I’ll start befor that, I guess. Heather and I made a go at the Bridgeport Brewery, and she enjoyed it a great deal. It IS some of the best pizza in the city of Portland, no matter what my father may say. Though in addition to that stop at the brewery, since I had taken the bus downtown to meet her and was running a bit early, I stopped off for a pint at the McMenamins I passed on 23rd. I had never been there before, though I’d seen it numerous times. Number 25, I believe, which only leaves one more in the immediate area that I haven’t been to.

That was the most exciting thing that weekend. Tuesday morning, I had to get up around 5 AM and take Heather to the MAX station so she could get to the airport on time, which of course, meant I just went right back to bed. But I had kind of a bad week after that through some circumstances I’d rather not discuss at the moment, but those who need to know the story, know the story. So what have I been doing since then? Sleeping, watching TV, that sort of thing. Heck, I haven’t even touched my ultimate time kill, Star Wars Galaxies, since before my sister left. Kind of a shame, really. My desktop computer is acting funky, though, particularly with Internet stuff, so I’m not really sure what the deal is.

Anyhow, I say the Phoenix arose because I feel like I’ve hit the middle of the week as a new person of sorts. About two days ago in a fit of frustration with various things, I shaved my goatee off, and the result was a completely foreign person looking back at me from the mirror. I only grew it a year and a half ago or so, but I really did like the way it look. Why’d I shave it off? I dunno.

I’m going to let it grow back. I don’t like the way I look without it.

So I just wanted to pop my head in and say yes, I’m here and I’m still alive, just had some other things on my mind. I’ll probably pop in again later in the week, perhaps.
