A bit tired, but anxious for the concert.
March 3, 2004
Obviously, I was sick of the old layout my my site. I really liked the colors that it used, but there were some graphical elements regarding the layout that were really beginning to piss me off that I hadn’t been able to solve since getting this new system up and running last summer, and even though I hadn’t put a whole lot of effort into fixing it, it would have taken a lot more knowledge than I have at the moment. Learning various HTML technologies for coding web pages doesn’t really appeal to me, anyhow. I’ll just (legally) mooch from other sites, like this new shaked ‘n’ baked design. I found a couple sites that offer Movable Type styles for download, and this is one of them, slightly tweaked for a better font. You’ll also notice that my title image is gone, but that’s because it wasn’t fitting into the box right. I’ll keep working on that because I really like the title image I made awhile back that I spent so much time on.
Well, as it turns out for those of you who read my blog from last night, TODAY is the big concert day. Until then, I have some work that I can do, and I even have to run down to Best Buy to pick up a piece of software that Martin wants me to get, which of course he’ll reimburse me for. Speaking of business expenses, I was thinking the other day that *when* I get a new laptop, since I’ll need it work work, I wonder if I could buy it, declare it on my taxes as a legitimate cost of doing business and write it off? My Dad seems to think that Martin will get me a laptop should it come to me being a full-time employee of BacGen, but of course, I always have my own specs in mind other than just a generic Winbook or something. Anyhow, it’s worth investigating, the whole write-off thing.
I am very tired today. I didn’t sleep well last night at all, and I woke up around 4:30 and couldn’t get back to sleep. Part of the reason for that is that I shaved yesterday and my face is a little razor-burnt right now, and so my face is a little overly sensative against my sheets, which irritated me all night. Then when I woke up, I kept getting song after song in my head, wheich drove me NUTS. Ever do that? Lie in bed trying to clear you mind to go to sleep and all you can think about is some damn song? Aargh! So around 6 AM I gave up and started reading the news for the day online, and then at 7 I got up and got to work after checking in with Martin.
I’m told the Kobe beef dinner went very well. Jerks. See if I ever cook good food for you again!
And on a final note, my Mom told me that having a few beers must be good for my typing, because she didn’t find any glaring typos in the last entry. She likes to point out every little typo I make as soon as she’s done reading it (or as she’s reading it, from time to time, whether I’m in the house, or not), though I don’t think I’d had as much beer as she thought. I did have four pints of beer last night, but it was over the course of two hours and my mind was perfectly clear. In any case, the only reason she didn’t catch any typos is because there was one glaring one at the very beginning that I just happened to notice. In fact, if you check your notification email that has the excerpt in it, you’ll notice it, too. I had hoped that it would slide out of that excerpt area, but alas, it went out to everyone like that. Oh well. All corrected now, you can’t prove a thing.
Unless the concert turns out to be March 3rd, 2005, my sister and I will have fun tonight. Later, all.
