Did my feet ever NOT hurt?

Man, I tried to exercise yeterday, but it just didn’t work. I went about 10 minutes on the exercise machine downstairs (The Gazelleฎ!), but I had to stop because my feet hurt too much, even through the padding of my Band-Aids, a thick pair of socks, and cross-training shoes. Ow. Well, at least my feet aren’t so painful that I can’t walk on them anymore. I feel strange not exercising for there days, though, although I suppose I’ve NOT exercised more days this year than I actually have.

So yesterday I got to see my aunt and uncle, too, my Mom’s youngest sister and brother-in-law, and my cousin. I haven’t seen them in years, and even though it was only for a couple of hours (they got here late the night before after I’d gone to bed and left around noon that day), it was good to see them. Here’s a perfect example of my website translating into real life: they got lost the night before, but they recognized one place, McMenamin’s. “Oh,” Barbara said, “that’s where Andrew goes to get beer!” Well, right chain, but I haven’t been to that particular location for a bit. Good thought, anyhow. Most people tend to forget what they read on my website, or they pretend to but don’t let it sink in. Thanks for paying attention, Barbara!

Today my Dad and I went back to the Bridgeport Brewery so that I could turn in my application I picked up last week, but alas, they guy who was going to take it asked me if I had a resume with me. Nope. Guess I’ll have to come back NEXT week. Shucks. We did have some good beer, though. I was going to buy a pitcher of the hand cast IPA, but we started off with a half-pint of the Old Knucklehead beer that’s around 10% alcohol, but after that we didn’t need that much more. As both my Dad and I noticed, even a small amount of that stuff knocks you on your ass pretty fast. We ended up only having that and a couple pints of hand cast stuff, first one of of the IPA and then the Blue Heron, their amber ale.

I also found that wearing my sandals while having half-healed blisters isn’t good for them. They have textured soles that rub a bit. Ow. I was even at the store today and I didn’t buy any moleskin for my feet. Well, I *did* remember my Salpica salsa, at least. Priorities, priorities.

The rest of my night is looking like any other normal night. Nowhere to go, no one to go with, nothing to do. I have my copy of “Fight Club” running in the background right now, so at least I’ll be entertained until I watch “Monk” or “Cheers” or whatever I want to watch tonight. Another fun night with Andrew. This is a big party night back at Beloit, so I know I’m missing out on that, but I paid my four years worth of dues, so I guess I’m graduated from that, so to speak. Eh. I’ll live. I drank a bunch of beer tonight, so I guess that’s enough partying for me. Made some hummus too, ’cause I’m a wild man. OK, that’s it for me. Take it easy, everyone.
