Last of the work and a good movie.

That’s it for me. No more classwork. I finished everything up this afternoon around 1:30. I worked on my Senior Seminar paper for much of yesterday, and then I finished up my independent project paper–which got SIGNIFICANTLY better, I might add–this afternoon. Then I went with Dan and Heather down to the bookstore to sell my books back, and of all my books, they bought one for a grand total of $2. Aargh! I hate carrying books with me, even though I’ll be in a car where they won’t be on my back the entire time. I mean really, what am I going to do with financial accounting and logic textbooks? I couldn’t seel them because new editions were coming out, according to the computers, even though I just used them last term. Bleah. Well at least I got $2 out of my hour and a half standing in line. I came back to my room and napped for awhile since I went to bed around 3 AM and got up before 8–and I’m still tired. Regardless, I have everything done.

My plan for the rest of the week is pretty easy. Tomorrow, once I find out what the storage hours are, I’m going to get all my boxes from storage and begin packing the stuff I know I won’t need for the rest of the week–cooking stuff, mostly, although I still have a bit of food to pack up. I’ll probably pack up all my spices, though. Wednesday I take my big fridge that I borrowed for the term into storage for the person who loaned it to me to pick up next term. That night a bunch of us are going to a Japanese restaurant in Rockford that is one of the best around, we hear. Dan and I have been meaning to go ever since our sophomore year, so we figured this is as good a time as any. Ooo, speaking of food, last night I went out with my friend Julie, her Mom, and our mutual friend Stephanie to dinner to a place in Beloit I didn’t even know existed. I figured that we were headed for Applebee’s or someplace like that, but this turned out to be a grill your own steak restaurant. I picked out a nice top sirloin–a bad cut, actually, since it was wide and thin instead of small and thick–and grilled it to perfection, and then toasted myself some Texas toast to go with it. We also got free baked potatoes and unlimited salad bar, and even though it was a bit pricey, I really liked it. Too bad I didn’t know it existed sooner….

Anyhow, back to the Japanese place. Every time we’ve passed it, the parking lot has been full, whether it’s been 5 PM or 12 AM, and since it’s not a shared parking lot we can only assume that it’s a popular place. That and several friends who have been there say that it’s very hard to get in to. I’m not very familiar with Japanese food, but I’ll give it a shot if everyone says it’s so good. I’ve had sushi in the past, but I’m not a fan. Pretty bland. I’ll see what else they have, too. On our way back we’re thinking of stopping by the Woodman’s that’s nearby (not the one we typically go to in Beloit) and check out whether they have those mini kegs of Warsteiner that Dan and I like so much. The two of us can drain one in anight–but it’s a fight to choke down five liters of beer. Oy. It’s such a fight because we HAVE to drink it all in one night, or else it goes flat and bad. That would be as good a night as any, we figured.

Tuesday is the senior party at a bar here in Beloit, and I’ll probably go to that with a bunch of my friends. They’re providing “limited” alcoholic drinks and unlimited soda and food, so it can’t be all bad. The rest of my week will probably be focused on packing and cleaning, since I have a lot of both to do. I’m a little sad to be all done in that I’ll miss the people around here, as well as the atmosphere, but I’m glad to be done with everything. I’m almost a degree holder. Betcha didn’t see that coming, did ya Mom? :)

I saw X-Men 2 last Friday night. EXCELLENT movie. Better than the first one, which is saying a lot. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the first one three years ago, expecting something pretty bad, but they managed to do it justice. The sequel is even better, which surprised me even more. Of course I dig comic book movies more than the av-er-age bear, but hey, even Roger Ebert liked it. That’s about all for me now. I have a huge mound of dishes that have been building up for the last week, so I’m doing them in shifts. I no longer have a place to dry my dishes, so I’m letting them air dry. I guess I’ll go grab the drying ones and finish them off by hand. Have a good night everyone. I know I will, clear mind and all. Ciao.

Six days until graduation.
