Well, break has officially started, and I have officially started working…some. Just a bit. I didn’t get any done last night, though I certainly had plenty of opportunity. Last night I watched “Farscape” (one of the two hours of TV I watch a week, though I did also watch two episodes of “Seinfeld” and one of “Friends” beforehand while I ate–hey, it IS break) and then the rest of Jurassic Park III instead of working. I watched Jurassic Park last night, The Lost World yesterday morning and afternoon, and then I thought I’d round off the trilogy with the 3rd one just for kicks. Not bad moves, and I don’t think I’ve seen The Lost World in a long time. Anyhow, then I just sort of bummed aorund until 1 AM or so and went to sleep. Today I began reading for my midterm that’s due on Monday morning, but it’s not as bad as it sounds. I’m sure the first thing you’re thinking is: “Gee, he’s doing his reading for the midterm? Guess that means he hasn’t done all the reading in the class up to this point!” Well I’ll show you, you’re only HALF right. We have to read a piece that she gave us and respond to it using some of the things we’ve learned in the course up until now, but no, I haven’t done ALL the reading that we have to use as reference. I do have to read the piece itself, however, and that’s what I’ve been doing today. It’s pretty dry, but I’m making do.

The page got a bit shorter, huh? I know I just posted an update a couple of days ago, but I wanted to do one today so I could file away the older updates onto a new page, which is now linked on the Weblog Archive page. I’ve beent ooling around with some of the other things on my website, and I’ve added some stuff to my About Me & AGSHender.Net page. I think it’s worth a chuckle, and I’ve had one person–who I didn’t even tell about it–mention it already. Guess people dig through my website once in awhile.

And speaking of digging through my website, I also added some additional old news entries. I mean old. If you read the new About Me page, I mention that I used to do the news updates via email, so in the spirit of thoroughness, I pulled out those old emails and made them news updates. I basically just copied the text and pasted it onto a new page, so they may sound a bit funny, but I now have a couple of news entries for August, 1999, and a few additional ones for September, 1999. That was the very beginning of my freshmen year, so I was a little green then.

While I’m on the subject of turning colors, I discovered something really rotten on Thursday night while I was at work. Someone from my Econ Senior Sem class came in to get his computer fixed and he mentioned that the first draft of an essay is due in that class the week after break. I believed him but couldn’t believe that it was due so soon so I looked at my syllabus, and sure enough, draft one of the essay due Thursday, March 13. That means that I have to write a midterm due Monday morning, read and begin writing for my independent project (1st draft due Friday, March 14!), and also read a book and write the 1st draft of my essay for Senior Sem due March 13. OK, I think I’m going to ask for an extension. I’ve asked for approximately two extensions that I can remember in nearly four years of college, and I think this is an appropriate time. If I explain to her my predicament, I’m sure she’ll be willing to give me until the following Tuesday, which is the next time we have class. It’s not like the essay is a final draft, anyway. The final draft isn’t due until the beginning of May (it’s a substitute for our final), so I do have a bit of time. A few extra days won’t make a difference. I hope. I can always ask, and if she says no, then I can still stay up several nights in a row without sleep until I’m visited by an Incan monkey God and he tells me what to write. Let’s call that plan B, shall we? Oh man.

OK, that’s about it for now. Gotta get back to work before I feel guilty for writing this. Have a good weekend everyone, and when I pop my head up for air once in awhile this week I’ll shout in your direction. See you later.

I have a bad feeling about this. That’s no moon…that’s a space station.
